Your domain control panel, cPanel is the control panel that controls all aspects of your hosting account. From setting up e-mail accounts to redirects, you do it all from here:
1. Go to: https://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel or to https://www.yourdomain.com:2082.The manual or users guide to cPanel can be found on cPanel's website by following this link:
1. cPanel Users Guide: http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/index.htmA sub-domain is creating an extension of your sites domain to redirect to a section of your website. For example if you create a subdomain named support that redirects to http://www.yourdomain.com/support, then every time someone visits http://support.yourdomain.com, then they will be redirected to http://www.yourdomain.com/support. More or less it is a fancy way of setting up an easy to remember redirect in the following manner: http://subdomain.yourdomain.com:
1. Login into your accounts cPanel by using the instructions under: How do I log into my domain's control panel, cPanel?
One of the benefits of using Fisch Internet Solutions is that we provide not one, but three online programs to allow our clients to check their domain e-mail online. All three programs can be accessed at the e-mail portal. In addition a user can change the password to his e-mail, set up an autoresponder/ e-mail forwarder, setup boxtrapper spam settings, and aging settings. To log-in to the e-mail portal:
1. Go to: https://www.yourdomain.com/webmail or to https://www.yourdomain.com:2095.
1. Login to the e-mail portal by using the instructions under: How do I check my domain e-mail via the Internet or how do I log into the e-mail portal?
2. Once you have logged into the e-mail portal, click on the webmail program of your choice.
3. Copy the url in your address bar. It will look something like:
a. https://www.yourdomain.com:2095/roundcube/index.php (if you choose RoundCube)
b. https://www.yourdomain.com:2095/horde/login.php (if you chose Horde)
c. https://www.yourdomain.com:2095/3rdparty/squirrelmail/src/webmail.php (if you chose SquirrelMail)
4. Once you have the URL you'll be wanting to use, login to your domain control panel by using the instructions under: How do I log into my domain's control panel, cPanel?
5. In your domain control panel, setup a subdomain called something like: webmail.yourdomain.com (you can do this by following the instructions under: How do I create a sub-domain in cPanel?). Do NOT use mail.yourdomain.com as these particular subdomains are already in use on the server and attempting to use them as subdomains can result in conflicts.
6. After you've setup the subdomain in your cPanel, do not forget to setup a "redirect" for the subdomain (Instructions for setting up a sub-domain can be found here: How do I create a sub-domain in cPanel?). You will need to setup the redirect so the subdomain goes to the URL of the webmail program of your choice.
