Client: City of Beacon Fire Department

The City of Beacon Fire Department is a combination paid and volunteer fire department that protects about 16,000 people in an area of about 5 square miles. The department that runs around 1,500 alarms a year choose FIS to design and develop their website to feature the department's latest news and events. As part of Fisch Internet Solutions community service program, FIS donated a virtual tour of a fire apparatus to show the community the city's fire apparatus and what tools they have.

In addition to it's web services FIS also provided it's marketing service to make sure that the department gets the exposure it deserves and that the community could always find their fire department in a moments notice. Lastly the firm set up the three fire stations so that they can communicate with each other via a network and integrated a fire department management software package into the three stations.

Web Marketing

The goal of the marketing campaign was to promote the department through search engine hits. The department was not seeing the search engine hits it wanted and wanted improvement. The target was primarily their online store which will sell department memorabilia and to get it popular with region keywords such as Hudson Valley, Dutchess County, and New York. Fisch Internet Solutions campaign was very successful and continues to do so even with such keywords as "Fire Department NY" which is in huge competition with the most popular fire department in the world, FDNY as well as keywords such as "Buff Shop". This hot keyword is used by just about every online fire department store yet Beacon received the number one spot on the world's most popular search engine, Google:

IT Solutions

The department was operating on one computer located at the main fire station. The need was a way to cost effectively connect the three stations, so that all could be linked in a single secure network. The other need was a fire department management software package to serve as a cost effective software database to manage the departments fire reports and members.

The solution was establishing a cost effective virtual network over the Internet between the three fire stations. Once the stations were connected, a fire department management package was selected and installed at the three locations. With the virtual network, the software package was able to be connected and used instantaneously at the three stations. This cost effective solution allowed the department to meet all of it's technology goals with minimum financial impact.
